This week apart of the new PlayStation Network releases, Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition.
It’s one down and four more games to go in the first-ever PlayStation Network PLAY event. And kicking off this late summer digital shindig is an enhanced version of one of Capcom’s more popular fighters, Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition.
Actually… that should be Street Fighter III: Third Strike Fight For The Future Online Edition, but I guess that doesn’t quite roll off the tongue. Oh well. Back on point, Third Strike Online Edition is a fantastic port of the original 1999 arcade fighting game, a technical masterpiece in its own fighting field despite its lukewarm reception when it was released.
Wait? Did I say “fantastic?” What I meant was, super fantastic! Err… No, no. Even that is hardly a precise description of the absolute sweet restoration process Capcom did for this game.
Great features such as new gameplay systems, a slick GGPO Online multiplayer experience with YouTube replay sharing, and high-definition filtered graphics (including one filter option that turns the screen into an actual arcade set-up.)
For $15, Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition is so worth getting, especially with all the amazing additions Capcom is giving you in this digital package. Plus it’s one of the best fighting games ever, and that alone should be the price of admission.
