It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine… in fact I feel pumped – as should you – because awesome high-octane off-road racing is back once again with MotorStorm Apocalypse.
ATV’s and monster trucks landing big jumps off of fallen skyscrapers, all while aiming for the top spot through massive urban destruction – hmm, not exactly the first thought that pops ups when picturing the Apocalypse, in fact, I’m pretty sure that ruins the whole doom-and-gloom aspect of it.
But then again, that’s certainly none of Evolution Studio’s concern, creators of the popular PlayStation exclusive off-road racing series MotorStorm; back again with dogs and cats, living together, mass hysteria!—action in their next upcoming PlayStation 3 title MotorStorm Apocalypse.
The typical off-road racing mayhem, which has given the series it loyal following, is still in full force in MotorStorm Apocalypse, it’s just moved to a new explosive venue, an earthquake devastated metropolis off the coast of California, simply titled The City.
Now race events are at their highest point of off-the-wall craziness in MotorStorm Apocalypse, with real-time destructible environments around every corner and jump, while fending off Mad Max-like attackers and the fierce military that both seek control over The City.
One interesting new game play element expanded from MotorStrom Pacific Rift, is enabling jumps to help speed up boost cooling. Where instead of water being the cooling agent, this time letting off the gas while grabbing some big air will help boost the temperature gauge to drop quicker, making passing the competition oh-so-sweet.
The regular arsenal of racing trucks, BMX bikes, and every rocky-terrain crossing vehicles are at your disposal in MotorStorm Apocalypse, including some new car classes to the series, such as supercars, superbikes, hot hatches, and choppers – fully customizable inside and out with slick-looking decals and better stock parts to help get an edge.
The doomsday racing festivities begin April 12 in North America for MotorStorm Apocalypse, and while you wait how about some pinball fun staring some of your favorite Marvel comic book characters, or more hot swinging action in Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2.
