Pearl Jam’s New Album to be Released as Rock Band DLC

When Pearl Jam started as a Seattle grunge band, they had no idea what the music industry would come to be and that music and gaming would have to co-exist after a couple of decades. So here they are getting their own rock Band title ready and it would be released on the same day their new album Backspacer would be released.

Hence, on September 20th Pearl Jam fans are in for a treat and they would get the new album as downloadable content. In fact, the new album would be released as Rock Band DLC. There is no information about the dedicated Pearl Jam title yet, but apparently the band is seeking suggestions from their fans in order to decide which songs must be included in the game.

It would be amazing to have the grunge rockers on PS3 in the form of Rock Band as we have seen a lot of other bands already in the game. Though there was Pearl Jam’s Ten album featured on Rock Band, there had not been a dedicated Pearl Jam title yet. I guess with this new title, Rock Band would garner a whole new audience which would include players from a non mainstream crowd as Pearl Jam appeals to the more mature and savvy listeners.

There was also this Beatles PS3 Game which we had written about earlier, just in case grunge isn’t for you and if you preferred Brit Pop more. I guess all in all it would be amazing to have the Seattle band have a dedicated Rock Band title and that too on the same day they are launching Backspacer. It would be a great promotional move either ways.

PS3 Lego Rock Band Arriving

Everyone at some point in their lives would have wanted to be part of a rock band and rise to stardom and glory. Though it is not possible in reality, video games like Rock band have made this dream come true to many people. Now, Warner has confirmed a cool new Lego Rock Band and the screenshots have been released as well. The game is being unveiled specifically for the entire family where kids, teens and adults can form a rock band and rock the universe.

It would be available on all the major consoles and has been designed with an intention to make it suitable for younger audiences. With that in mind, popular songs by Blur, Carl Douglas, Europe, Good Charlotte and Pink among others have been included. Lego’s “Build and Play” theme will work here too and players will be able to create their own band, and build them step by step and eventually rise to stardom.

The Lego Rock band can be used with music game controllers and official Rock Band instruments, which means if you already have Rock Band, you would not need to spend much on accessories. If you are into more grungy music, you should check out the Pearl Jam Rock Band. The Wireless Warbeast guitar is an awesome controller which can be used with this game as well.

Coming to the PS3 in March is Pearl Jam track list from the popular album Ten.

Pearl Jam’s Ten Album was released when I was in High School, and it made a heck of an impression on me. Now with the beautiful Rock Band world for the PS3, the track list I grew up on will finally appear and allow me to play some of my favorite tunes on the Playstation.
