Simple Math: PS1+PS2 = PS3!

If you believed in simple mathematics, you would know that when you add numerical 1 to numerical 2, you would get a sum of 3. That is what seems to have inspired this unknown modder who has conveniently joined a PS1 and a PS2 and called it a PS3! He has used duct tapes to join the ancient PS1 and the almost redundant PS2 and has created a modern monument of sorts.

I really do like this mod, though it doesn’t need a lot of geekish knowledge to create it again! This is one way you could restore your old consoles to some purpose. Use a duct tape, and join them to create a piece of art that I am sure would be really valuable after a couple of decades, because it already would have been an antique.

I am not really sure if the ps1+ps2 = ps3 mod works or not, but it just might! If you have any information about it, do share it with other readers in the comments section! Slimline PS2 Portable Console Mod

Osuroller at PS3Hax is on a mission to turn a PS2 into a portable console. While it could be a daunting task, he sems excited and determined nevertheless. He mission began last year sometime and it is not sure if the supposed portable console materialized.

However, looking at the pictures he has provided for the intended end product, one can’t help but admire at the innovative spirit of the modder. The idea was to convert a slimline PS2 into a portable console with all the necessary buttons and some customized images.

While it is not clear if he managed to do it, the comments on the thread reveal that people were more interested in turning the PS3 into a portable console. However, judging by the size of a PS3 I can’t but be skeptical if such a thing could even happen. Moreover, one could always use the PSP or wait for its next version to arrive in the market.

However, it was a little too tempting to think that the PS2 could be converted into a portable console. If anyone has any idea about his mission’s success, we would all love to know! Successful mods like the NEStation PS2 Mod and the Homicide Mod are just too cool to be described in words. If you are strong enough, forget about converting your favourite console into a portable one, and instead look forward to Microwaving it!

NEStation NES and PS2 Mod

NES is one of the best consoles ever, and the reason why everyone likes it is because it is almost timeless. There has not been a single kid around, or even adults who have not played cool retro games on the NES. It has been more than a couple of decades that the cool console has persisted and been subjected to modding and hacking all these years. In fact NES is one of the best consoles around to mod. Take for example this shiny LED illuminated NEStation Mod which is the brainchild of French modder kotami.

He used a standard NES and painted it black. After doing so, he added blue LED lights, which makes it chic and stylish. The real deal of this mod is that it has been styled to look like the PS2. The base seems to have been built by plastic/fiberglass and you could play it horizontally as well. The cool blue glow that emanates from the mod reminds you of cool nightclubs like Buddha Bar in Paris. Perhaps, even geeks in France are style conscious and know who to glamorize gadgets that are otherwise nerdish.

Kotami may soon come back with another Haute Couture mod from the land of France, this time for a PS3! While you may be wondering what the fuss is all about an NES and why one can’t just mod a cool PS3, you still could check out the number of mods we have written about. The Far Cry 2 Mod is an artistic reply to geekish mods. The Wood Themed Mod is yet another stylish mod which tries to compete with French couture.
